Jonathan Pototschnik is the Co-Founder of CitiTurf. He has over 30 years of experience in the home-service industry. He started his first business, mowing lawns in Wylie, at age 14. Starting his junior year of college, he spent four years working in software engineering. After, he decided to focus his career on building his own businesses, which later led to the founding of CitiTurf in 2005, where he combined his field experience with his background in technology. By applying a systems-driven approach to lawn and pest services, he and his team have grown CitiTurf into one of the largest residential lawn & pest service companies in North Texas. Jonathan is a lifelong entrepreneur who has successfully founded and scaled multiple companies, including the industry-leading software platform Service Autopilot, which he exited in 2019.
Jonathan isn’t just the owner of CitiTurf. He is a neighbor who has lived in Collin County since he was 5. He grew up here and graduated from Wylie High School, where he met his wife, Tifani.
They have been together since the summer before their senior year of high school and have two sons in their early 20s. Jonathan understands the local area not just as a market, but as home. He built CitiTurf because he believed there was a market opportunity to improve reliability and customer service through technology. CitiTurf replaced the industry standard annual contract model with a pay for performance model where homeowners only paid for the work they actually received vs what was estimated at the beginning of the year.
Jonathan writes to make lawn care, pest control and tree care easy to understand. He helps homeowners avoid bad advice and wasted money. While he focuses on the big picture, all technical claims regarding agronomy, pest control, and arboriculture are checked by licensed CitiTurf experts.
